Morisset Safer Drivers Course
The Morisset Safer Drivers Course teaches learner drivers techniques and strategies that help minimise unnecessary risk taking, distractions and influences that can affect a drivers capability. The Safer Drivers Course in Morisset was created to help reduce the number of serious injury and fatal crashes, involving our young and inexperienced drivers.
Research has proven that novice drivers are approximately three (3) times more likely to be involved in a fatal crash than the average crash rate for all drivers. In addition, NSW crash data also shows that novice drivers, such as red P platers, are most vulnerable in their first year of driving solo.

SAFER DRIVERS COURSE MODULES
Module 1
Module 1 Morisset Safer Drivers Course
Led by an experienced facilitator, Module 1 is an interactive and engaging three (3) hour facilitated group discussion set in a classroom environment. Throughout the session, learners will explore the behaviours and effective management strategies to become safer drivers. Module 1 helps learner drivers to identify and manage internal and external influences that can impact the skills and ability of novice drivers.
Module 2
Module 2 Morisset Safer Drivers Course
Module 2 of the SDC consists of a two (2) hour coaching session in a trainers vehicle. The session only involves two (2) learner drivers and a driver trainer. Each learner will take turns driving on a set route whilst implementing certain strategies learnt in Module 1. This allows learner drivers to identify risks and potential risks in a real life environment and the techniques used to help minimise unnecessary risk taking behaviours.
The Morisset SDC targets everyday driving skills and abilities that include internal and external factors, identifying and managing hazards, speed management, safe following distances, reducing risks and safe gap selection.

Identifying & Avoiding Risks
A hazard is something that has potential to harm you. Risk is the likelihood of a hazard causing harm. Learn the difference between both and how to manage and avoid risks in a real life driving situation.
Other Defensive Strategies
There are many simple tips and techniques you can do to be a safe driver. Things such as vehicle placement and the anticipation of others, can help prevent a crash and keep you safe.

How Much Is The Safer Drivers Course?
The course is $140 across the state no matter what provider you use. That equates to only $7.00 per log book hour! Please note that full payment must be made before attending module one of the SDC. If you are a concession card holder you may be eligible to complete the SDC for free. You must complete a concession course application and send it to Learn Drive Survive before attending module one of the SDC.
